The church in Strzelce was mentioned as early as 1428. In 1586, the church was taken over by Protestants and shortly afterwards, the church building, which was no longer usable, was thoroughly rebuilt. In 1854, the temple was suitable for demolition. The present church was built in Neo-Romanesque style in 1856. Renovations in the temple were carried out in the years: 1933, 1938, 1974 i 2000.

The church is oriented, built of brick and plastered. It was built on a rectangular plan, with the presbytery closed with a trilateral apse. On the west side there is a four-storey square tower. Its main storey is topped with pinnacles and surmounted by a sheet metal pyramidal cupola. There are two storeys of semi-circular closed windows in the nave and one in the apse.

Behind the mensa in the chancel is a large wooden cross with the figure of Christ. The walls in the chancel are divided by full-height pillars. In the nave, in front of the presbytery, one can admire the painting of the Merciful Jesus.

In the sanctuary, it is worth noting the stained glass windows depicting the images of: St John Paul II (an occasional stained glass window to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his pontificate) and Saints: Faustyna Kowalska, Francis of Assisi, John the Apostle, Adalbert, Christopher and Jadwiga.
