In 1979, on the initiative of Fr Kazimierz Wróbel, parish priest from Strupina, a Mass chapel was built in Skokowa, together with residential facilities. In 1985 the chapel was consecrated and the first Mass was celebrated. In 1987 the parish of Strupina was assigned a vicar, Father Edward Jurek, who asked the Curia to establish an independent pastoral centre by the chapel in Skokowa. Cardinal Henryk Gulbinowicz erected a parish in Skokowa on 28 May 1993, detaching the following localities from the parish of Strupina: Borów, Borówek, Chodlewko, Pększyn and Skokowa.

The church was built in the vicinity of the old German cemetery and the dilapidated cemetery chapel. After several years of intensive work, the cemetery was cleaned up and the chapel renovated.

Rectangular building made of clay blocks. The roof is pitched and covered with ceramic tiles. On the south side, the entrance is in an arcade supported by a brick pillar, on the east side, the entrance is under a bay window with a differently coloured cross in the luxurage window. The church and the farmyard have been extensively modified since 2000.

Due to the high groundwater level, the cemetery could not serve the local community.

Thanks to the efforts of parish priest Kazimierz Czuczoła and the parishioners, a new cemetery was built on the site of the old German cemetery.
