The palace was built around 1785 by the von Reichenbach family from Goszcz. At the time, the manor house was single-storey and much smaller than it is today. It remained under their management for sixty years. On 22 July 1845, the estate was purchased from Count Heinrich by Count Adelberdt von der Recke von Volmerstein, who came from Westphalia. He was the founder of the foundation that began to organise the work of the Krosnice medical centre. In the same year, the palace was rebuilt from a baroque to a neo-Renaissance style. The Neo-Renaissance style of this building was probably taken from Italian models. It was the largest palace in the area at the time, second only to the residence in Brzostów.

After the count's death, the management of the palace was taken over by his descendants. Werner's son Leopold junior was the initiator of the last reconstruction of the palace. The architect of this reconstruction was Hans Thomas from the Breslau branch of the Bund Deutscher Architekten. Thomas departed from the hitherto practised modern architecture and rebuilt the residence in the style of Prussian Neoclassicism.

In the architecture of the palace one can distinguish between historicist and modernist elements, between which Hans Thomas tried to find a compromise The architect created a specific style combining both modernism and neo-classicism. He was able to distinguish common features of these directions, giving the palace in Krosnice an original and unique shape. The form that was given to the palace has survived to this day, despite the occupation of the palace by Soviet troops in 1945 and the accompanying looting and destruction in Krosnice.

The building remained empty until 1957, when the Ministry of Health put it under the management of the State Hospital for the Nervously and Mentally Ill, where it was used as a school for children from the neuropsychiatric hospital until 1996.

In 1996, the mansion was bought by the municipal authorities, renovated and used as their headquarters. During the last renovation many changes were made, especially to the interior, adapting the rooms for office use.
