Local products are a tourist attraction and an excellent souvenir of a trip, attracting comparably to famous landmarks. There are quite a few of them in our region, and they have survived thanks to the interest of tourists.
The Lower Silesian Cycling Destination combines several lands that have their own regional specificities. In addition to natural assets, there are, of course, local producers, whose products are produced on a small scale usually on family farms or businesses. These products are strongly linked to local cultural traditions - culinary and handicraft. Due to their limited availability - seasonal, but also small quantity, as well as high quality and authenticity, not found in mass products from a factory, they are very popular and deservedly sought after by tourists as valuable regional souvenirs.
Within the framework of individual or group trips to DKR, visits to local producers are very interesting and original ideas for spending the time left after cycling. We encourage you to visit local producers, participate in organised demonstrations, feasts, tastings, tours or workshops during which you can get to know local flavours, learn many traditional methods of production, processing, decorating or packaging of food or craft products and take your own prepared product, together with the accompanying impressions, as a souvenir to take home.
Within our 3 main sub-regions, there are different, sometimes similar, sometimes different groups of local products. The regions organise their own systems for quality control and promotion of outstanding products.
DOLINA BARYCZY has been awarding its products and services with a strong regional character with the 'Dolina Baryczyca Poleca' label since 2008. MIDDLE ODER VALLEY has introduced a certification scheme entitled "Kraina Łęgów Odrzańskich recommends" in 2022. Local products from the Middle Oder Valley include, above all, VEGETABLE PROCESSING | wines from the Oder vineyards | craft beers | honey | handicrafts such as wood products or ceramics.
The TRZEBNICKIE HILLS have not yet introduced a separate system for the certification and promotion of local products.
