THE COLOURFUL CARP TRAIL in the Barycz Valley is an interesting promotional idea for the region of the LAG "Partnership for the Barycz Valley", modelled on the colourful carp from German Bavaria.
Colourful carps stand at tourist attractions all over the Barycz Valley. Each has its own individual image. The ideas for the carp's appearance came from local schoolchildren who submitted their ideas in the Barycz Valley's Magic Place competition, organised in 2015. The competition committee selected the most interesting ideas, which were transferred into carp figures by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. The painting plein-air took place at the KOM in Milicz.
Since their appearance, colourful carp have gained great popularity. They are the most photographed and posted on the web and promote the Barycz Valley very well. At local service providers you can get a map with the location of the fish and, driving around the Barycz Valley, collect a set of stamps. The prizes are gadgets funded by the LAG in Milicz.
